the client

As the Head of Content at Delphi Strategic Marketing & Design, I develop and create all written creative content for our 40+ clients as well as Delphi itself. When I joined Delphi in 2018, the company was already in the midst of preparing for a total rebrand which included developing a new agency website.

This project was a team effort, and my responsibility was to further develop brand copy already written and create all new web copy for their site. I worked closely with the company’s head of design and the CEO to develop copy that introduced their new brand voice, expressed their mission, and showcased their customers.

 
 

the need

For Delphi’s new website, I endeavored to create copy that was light and fun but conveyed the firm’s high performance and technical prowess. The rebrand required an entirely new website, logo, and brand voice. The CEO and head of design had begun the process of building the website, and I was brought on when they needed to turn their outlines into effective and engaging copy. At times, the copy required technical writing when explaining the firm’s services, and at other times, I would be writing about the company and its mission statement so the voice would be more emotive. This project required a great mix of precision and charisma.

the focus

Because this website was being created for a company rebrand, the new brand voice had to be showcased in every aspect of the site, especially in the copy. At the beginning of the process, I met with the CEO and head of design so that I could be brought up to speed. They showed me the website and their outlines for the copy, and I asked questions to the CEO so that I could hear him explain the brand in his own words. We also worked on a section of the copy as a group so I left that meeting with a good handle on how to write for what they need.

the result

With the provided material and what I gleaned from interviewing my colleagues, I created a shared document with both written content and suggested formatting. The copy was implemented on the website with minimal revision, and the finished product is stunning. We were very proud of Delphi’s website as a whole because it is an impeccable fusion of creative, content, and design. The process of meeting with the head of design and the CEO was so fruitful that I now implement a similar workflow with each client I have.

Delphi Strategic Marketing & Design is a rare company that demands an online presence equally rare. Even in the tumult of the COVID-19, Delphi has continued to grow! Delphi managed to increase our client list in the last half of 2020, and this is in no small part due to the successful rebranding that was centered around this award-winning website.
