the client

One of my favorite clients at Delphi Strategic Marketing & Design is New York based custom luxury glass specialists Capitol Glass. When I first started at Delphi, I was the growing startup’s first communications & design associate. On the design end, my primary duties were supporting the design team by doing things like optimizing sites for mobile or taking on smaller design projects like single landing pages. On the other side of my position, I would write social media posts for about a dozen of our clients- one of which was Capitol Glass.

My work with Capitol Glass has evolved over time, and I began developing SEO optimized content for their blog at the end of 2019. We are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but luckily I was already in the position to quickly craft a letter to their customers updating them on Capitol Glass’s coronavirus response.

the need

Capitol Glass is a well known New York City institution known for high quality, fully customized luxury glass works, but we are always striving to broaden their visibility on the internet. With a client of this caliber, the work truly speaks for itself so we knew we were in a great position to draw significant internet traffic to their site by focusing on SEO optimized content that could position Capitol Glass as a thought leader in their industry.

the focus

Because I had already gotten to know the client so well through writing their social media, I did not need much lead time on developing and creating this work. I jumped right in by coordinating with an SEO specialist who put together potential topics based around relevant search optimized keywords. We sent the list to the client, and the client picked which topics they were interested in. From there I researched independently to craft well-informed, SEO rich pieces that spanned from explaining different glass types to illuminating methods of increasing work productivity through office design.

the result

Though we only had the opportunity to post a few times before the project was put on hold, we started seeing positive results almost immediately. By December 2020, my post “How to Tell if Glass is Tempered” was ranked #5 for that keyword phrase and more related keywords. Additionally, Capitol Glass’s website ranked #1 for the keywords “glass nyc” and “mirrors nyc,” and #2 for “shower doors nyc.”
